Britney Winley
Marriage and Family Therapy Intern
Britney Winley was born in Greenville, South Carolina, and raised in Georgia. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from American InterContinental University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in Sex Therapy at Amridge University.
Britney currently serves as a Victim Advocate within a District Attorney’s Office, where she supports individuals navigating traumatic, complex, and often life-altering experiences. Her work in advocacy has strengthened her skills in crisis intervention, safety planning, systems navigation, interdisciplinary collaboration, confidentiality, and trauma-informed care.
She is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Her therapeutic approach is affirming, collaborative, nonjudgmental, and sex-positive, with an emphasis on personal autonomy, informed consent, emotional safety, and open communication.
Britney is committed to creating an inclusive therapeutic environment that respects diverse identities, relationship structures, and expressions of sexuality, including kink and consensual nontraditional relationships. Her clinical interests include partner communication, sexual trauma recovery, intimacy and desire concerns, boundary development, and the intentional integration of kink within healthy relationship dynamics.
Her advocacy experience has also deepened her understanding of how legal concerns, safety issues, trauma, culture, gender, neurodiversity, disability, and other intersecting identities may influence relational and sexual well-being. She strives to provide care that is compassionate, culturally responsive, ethically grounded, and informed by current clinical research.
Britney’s professional goal is to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in sex therapy. Through her clinical internship, she is continuing to strengthen her therapeutic skills and deepen her experience supporting clients as they navigate relationships, intimacy, trauma, communication, and personal growth.
